Unique Enhanced Pathway Career Program. This program has been specially designed to accelerate you into a career in Individual Support Care. (Queensland has a significant shortfall of compassionate carers in a career that requires committed people who have a demonstrated passion for caring for others.)
This is a unique 10-week course that will appeal to genuine future Disability Care Workers. We have numerous disability care providers/host employers who are offering traineeships to the people who stand out during the program and who are committed. Potentially, you can be signed into a traineeship at any stage during this program.
Training will commence Monday 7th September 2020 and will be delivered in Bundaberg with 12 positions being offered in the first round. Work placements will be provided and supported by leading stakeholders in the Disability Care Sector. Securing your traineeship is a feature of this program on your journey to a fulfilling career.
The Duties:-
This is a career where you must be committed and available to work weekends, public holidays and evenings including split shifts.
You must be able to attend a training program for 10 weeks which includes (7) weeks of college - 3 days x 6 hours sessions per week from 7th September 2020.
Attend three (3) weeks of work vocational placement @ 5 days a week.
The vocational placement will occur after week 7.
About you:
We are seeking participants who meet all or some of the following criteria:
- Genuine passion and commitment to a career in this industry
- Attend a training program for 10 weeks (unpaid)
- Registered, fully insured vehicle & current licence (have reliable access to transport to training and work sites)
- Current resume including previous courses and qualifications (for auditing traineeship eligibility purposes)
- Queensland resident aged over 15 years of age who is no longer at school: AUS/NZ citizen or AUS permanent resident.

Are you passionate about becoming a Direct Care Worker in Aged, Disability or Community Care
The Caring Careers Enhanced Pathways Program will provide you with essential up front learning and introduction to test your suitability to the sector.
It will provide you with a pathway into the industry or the opportunity for a traineeship to complete the full CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support with Registered Training Organisation, TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275).
The program is particularly suited to Ex-Servicemen & Women, Spouses, people from Indigenous, migrant and refugee backgrounds. Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in the Health Care sector, committed to attend the unpaid training program for 10 weeks, have a reliable, registered, fully insured vehicle and current licence or have reliable access to transport to attend training and work sites.
Programs Dates:
- Information session 9th September
- Interviews and skills assessments including language, literacy, numeracy, personality & motivational fit for final selection will be conducted prior to undertaking this program.
- All day induction & orientation 29th September
- 30th September commence seven (7) weeks of college between 9am – 3pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays
- Attend mandatory 120 hours Vocational Placement on a full-time basis (5 Days per week x 8 hours) for 3 weeks
